Westlab were approached by the Project Manager for The Alfred Pathology Service to assist with the speedy manufacturer and installation of the new pathology laboratory at the Sandringham Hospital site in Melbourne. Current challenges in Australian pathology laboratories include congestion due to space restrictions and dynamic changes to facilitate technologies including automation and robotics.
A key requirement for this project was to design, manufacture and install this new laboratory within a 5 week window. The Westlab team were able to deliver within the required time frame, with the propriety Modulab Connect Australian made laboratory furnishing system.
Other project requirements included benchtops able to support heavy equipment and absorb vibration, reconfigurable storage space and layout flexibility.
