The University of Newcastle, a world-class university with a strong focus on student experience, excellence in teaching, and research, approached Westlab to assist in the modernisation of their Medical Sciences and Life Sciences teaching labs. The objective was to create flexible, cutting-edge facilities that would attract and retain students whilst accommodating future changes.
Westlab Spaces was selected to design, manufacture, and install mobile service spines and benches for the labs, due to the unique mobile service system being made here in Australia. This solution offered flexibility and modularity, allowing for easy relocation and minimal disruption during future modifications. Close collaboration with other trades ensured seamless integration with ongoing interior and service updates.
The implementation of Westlab’s mobile system resulted in transformed labs with a modern and appealing vibe. The flexible design enables the university to adapt to future lab needs efficiently and cost-effectively. The upgraded facilities will support ongoing high academic outcomes, contribute to student attraction, and enhance the overall learning environment.
