Symbio Laboratories

Symbio Laboratories grew from humble beginnings in 1997 and has become one of Australia’s leading privately owned laboratories; servicing analytical testing needs of the food, agricultural and environmental sectors nationally. Over 35,000 tests are performed each week on approx. 11,000 samples, across six laboratory locations and to over 7,000 customers annually.

Constant improvement of Symbio’s automation and efficiency, and enhancement of analytical methods is the backbone of their modus operandi. Innovation in their laboratory operations applies to every department, whether it be chemistry, microbiology, sample management, customer service or IT.

With the Ravenhall site in Victoria secured, the next step was for a fully bespoke laboratory system in accordance with Symbio’s national style guide. Westlab was engaged to provide and coordinate the design, manufacture and delivery of the new Ravenhall laboratory fitout. This state of the art laboratory will allow Symbio to increase efficiencies including cost per sample reduction and to scale up their capability in Victoria.
