The seven-story building in Mt Albert, Auckland, is the organisation’s flagship facility, housing a wide range of laboratory, office, and corporate functions. It serves as a vital hub for the organization’s pioneering scientific work that enhances the value of the fruit, vegetable, crop, and food industries.
The team at Westlab Spaces worked alongside Lab-works Architecture in installing the state-of-the-art laboratory that is essential to PFR’s mission of ensuring New Zealand’s food & bio-security, and developing new products that benefit human health.
Westlab’s proprietary Modulab Connect® system ensures the lab is flexible and adaptable, allowing Plant & Food to respond rapidly to emerging challenges and opportunities. This innovative and seamless laboratory workflow facilitates productive knowledge sharing and engagement among peers.
Incorporating compact laminate service benchtop spines, high-quality cabinetry, and vibrant, varied colour choices, the new lab provides a user-friendly space that will be a delight to work in for many years to come.
