Located in the thriving regional city of Townsville, the Douglas Water Treatment Plant is an advanced analytical laboratory offering a range of soil and water testing services.
Due to continued growth and expansion, Townsville Laboratory Services engaged with Westlab’s project team to design and deliver a new laboratory space.
After detailed assessment and layout consultation, the Westlab team were able to assist with efficiency improvements to ensure that the transition to the new facility provided higher return on investment (ROI).
The laboratory complex was broken down into the following spaces:
– Microbiological Laboratory
– General Laboratory
– ICPMS Laboratory
– LC Laboratory
– GC Laboratory
– Instrument room
– Microscope Room
– Store
Using the propriety ‘Modulab Connect’ furniture system, Westlab delivered an outstanding, highly functional and flexible laboratory space, ensuring an optimised throughput efficiency for Townsville Laboratory Services.
The clever use of bright colours throughout the facility added a vibrant feel, making it both a functional and aesthetically pleasing laboratory space.
