The core responsibility of the Metro North Public Health Unit is to prevent illness and disease and improve the health of the community. The unit has a focus on protecting the health of the community from communicable disease and other illnesses, as well as promoting health and well-being.
The team at Westlab project worked directly with Metro North Public Health to design, manufacture and install a complete laboratory solution into an existing building using a slection of solid epoxy and solid timer to find the balance between function and form while fitting into the heritage type requirements of the existing building.
The projects resulted in a retro and functional space that can be adapted with the changing requirements of Metro North Public Health.
