LivaNova is a London based company that builds upon strong legacies of medical innovation to develop and deliver breakthrough therapeutic solutions for the benefit of patients, healthcare professionals, and healthcare systems.
LivaNova’s new Dandenong manufacturing facility required a highly lean cleanroom laboratory to assist with the manufacture of therapeutic equipment. Westlab projects were approached by LivaNova to design, manufacturer and provide a complete solution delivery for the new Melbourne laboratory.
This space had an intense amount of consideration from Lean specialists to ensure a swift return on investment and maximin impact on ongoing efficiencies. Core challenges included the pre-assembly of benches prior to a two stage scrub down and clean room entry to ensure that the space was kept sterile throughout the installation process.
The design process resulted in the adoption of the famous U-cell work laboratory layout complete with adjustable illuminated magnifiers, overhead fisher shelves, storage trolley and adjustable tube trolley complete with phenolic resin cored work surface.
