Lavalla Catholic College is a tri-campus independent Roman Catholic co-educational secondary day school, located in the towns of Traralgon and Newborough in the Gippsland region of Victoria, Australia.
Proud of its provision of a Catholic Education that meets all the needs of the students and families in the Latrobe Valley, the school stands by its motto ‘Strong Minds & Compassionate Hearts’.
Seeking to bring the middle school science labs up to date, Lavalla approached Westlab as their privileged partner of choice in designing and fitting out this space.
The Westlab projects team worked closely with the user group to design and deliver science learning areas that are functional, flexible and aesthetically pleasing.
With a strong focus on maximising storage area, Westlab’s project team effectively utilised the Modulab Connect system along with the Gratnells tray system. The chemical resistant lab-grade benchtops provide longevity and a clean, crisp look whilst the underbench storage efficiently increases storage capacity.
The project resulted in an efficient and flexible space, focused on student outcomes and quick lesson changeovers with the modular configuration future-proofing the room should requirements change.
The Science teachers are thrilled with our new Science teaching spaces. Our dated fittings have been replaced with functional and modern laboratories and classrooms that are suited to the current Science curriculum and study designs.
Westlab worked with our teaching staff to give us the facilities we wanted within the space we had available. They were very flexible, listened to our needs, and accommodated any changes we required during the design process to create a high quality finished product.
