KaizenLAB is a world class, environmental laboratory providing testing & analytical services in Western Canada. Located in Calgary, they have been focused on serving the environmental, municipal, oil & gas industries for over 20 years. Kaizen has been taking strides to continually serve and grow existing customers and stretch their boundaries to the ever-changing demands of the industry. Poised with growth, KaizenLAB engaged the Westlab Team to design, customize and build their own state of the art laboratory. With a reputation of service and speed – sample through put, workflow efficiencies, staff ergonomics, and flexibility were of utmost importance.

The Spaces team carefully analyzed Kaizen’s existing laboratory and brainstormed ways to maximize their new space keeping in mind their needs for flexibility and efficient workflow. Consultation & design services were offered to create a custom layout that could support Kaizen’s growth for years to come. The team got to work manufacturing, delivering, and installing all the components to bring the space to life.

The outcome was a well-organized, future-proof laboratory space featuring quality custom-built casework, analytical benching, high-end fume extraction equipment, and world class chemical storage. Key considerations included island benching with bench mounted service spines and ample power for all the equipment. The new laboratory is nearly ten times the size of the previous facility and is home to the latest equipment & technology in the industry.
