The Canberra Grammar School is well equipped with excellent facilities to support a broad range of contemporary education, including new refurbished laboratories manufactured in the Westlab “Modulab Connect” Australian made system.
Challenges included a prompt delivery and installation requirement of multiple high quality and functional science spaces that could stand up to the test of time whilst enduring the rigors of the harsh laboratory environment.
The team at Westlab proposed multiple design options on the Westlab 3D designer and finalised on an option that incorporated our phenolic resin worktop system with the all-steel epoxy coated frame and modular cabinetry.
The project resulted in a heavy duty, high throughput design that is open, neutral and contrasting in colour. The project also resulted in the optimising of preparation downtime to maximise the time with student learning time and core outcomes.
